Experiencing Birth
There is a secret in our culture, and it’s not that birth is painful. It’s that women are strong. -Laura Stavoe Harm
I’m often asked what homebirth is like, or how messy homebirth is. These videos are hand picked by me because they illustrate not only what the home birth experience looks like, but what it feels like and what it sounds like. For most of us, our knowledge of birth comes from mainstream media. While lying on your back in a hospital is one way to have a baby, these videos show how beautifully unpredictable birth is and some of the various positions and environments possible in the homebirth or midwifery world.

Birth of SloaneThis video is of a home birth and features the unique practice of cord burning, where cauterization is used as an alternative to cutting the cord and a postpartum herbal bath is given (two services that I offer for my families).
